A beautiful traditional house preserved in its pristine form - a walk inside takes you back by about 150 years - the structure of the house, furniture, utensils. The place is well maintained, and located quite close to the famous Kailasanathar temple. Its frequented by tourists, especially from abroad.

This is one of the Pancha Bootha sthal (Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Akash) - Prithvi Linga is there in Ekambaranatha temple. The Linga is Mitti Linga made by Parvati and worshipped by her under a mango tree on the banks of Kamba Nadhi. Kamba Nadhi does not exists now. But the mango tree is preserved till date. Behind the Prithvi Linga in the Garbhgraha Shiva Parvati marriage scene is depicted.

The Shiva Lingam is "Mitti (Sand lingam) created by Parvati and she worshipped here. It is a huge temple complex and one of the major temples in Kanchipuram. The mango tree under which Parvati worshipped Shiva in the form of Sand Lingam is there in the temple. Age of the tree is approximately 3500 years. The stone work is breath taking .

Another historic temple in Kanchi that is located right in the heart of the town. Though surrounded by the hustle and bustle that one can find in the centre of a temple town, the moment you enter the temple precincts, it is calm, tranquil and it’s like entering a different world. A beautiful temple tank with cool water and lots of little fish in it is where one can wash their feet before they enter the temple. One can visit Sannadhi dedicated to Lord Ganesha, followed by a visit to the main deity - Lord Shiva with Parvati. There are many smaller shrines, and a unique aspect is a shrine for Lord Surya - the Sun God. A huge space around the shrines can accommodate hundreds of devotees, especially on auspicious days when the turnout is quite huge. In the month of Karthigai, fairs are also held inside the temple with petty shops, rides for the kids and some food to munch. Overall, a beautiful temple to visit. Other nearby temples include Sri Subramanyaswamy Kumarakottam temple and Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple.
