The traditional toast of Tamil Nadu – the Chettinad handloom sarees

Who has not heard of Chettinad? Known for its local cuisine (hot spicy food and curries), architecture and temples, it is the boast of Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu. Once well-populated, home to a very prosperous banking and business community, it is now reduced to a few villages and two principal towns Karaikudi and Devakottai.
