A very big and attractive Krishna Temple situated on hill, near the Yashwantpur railway station. A very peaceful place beautifully built and decorated. The approach to the main temple is well organized with separate paths for up and down as the temple is located on a small hill top except at few areas where the path is too narrow and may not manage big crowds. A must-see for visitors to Bangalore.
Located in Basavanagudi this is a very beautiful cave temple. It is said that the sun rays fall on Gavi Gangadhareshwara (Lord Shiva ) on Makara Sankranthi which is a visual treat. This Ancient temple has a unique feature that the sun rays fall directly on Lord shiva idol for 4 days in a year (Jan 13 - Jan 16). The temple is actually inside a cave little underground. That is one has to step down (few steps) from the earth level to enter the cave. Inside the cave too it is a little slope one has to walk a few steps to have the darshan. As it is a small cave even a 4 foot person would have to bend down to walk inside the temple. This being closer to the Bull temple, one can combine this visit with that to other temples, all in 3 to 4 hours of time.
The temple is at heart of the city but it takes you away from the hustling bustling city for a moment. It has a small mountain with multiple small temples and statue of tridev carved on a stone. Ragigudda Anjaneya Temple is a famous land mark for all people in Bangalore. Well connected to all places, the temple on the hillock is a place worth visiting with family during evenings. You can relax on the hillock and spend the time usefully. Close by you have malls also to visit.
Very serene! The idol is said to have been sculpted on a single rock. Next to the temple is Bangalore's famous bull temple which is worth a visit. Dodda Ganapathi Temple and Bull temple are located in the same premises. Dodda Ganapathi temple is on the ground level and Bull temple is on the small hill top. Ganesha statue in the temple is the largest (biggest and tallest) one would see in a temple.
Close by are Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple which is at about 2 km distance, the Tippu Sultan Palace along with Tirupati balaji temple.
